I took this portrait in natural light at the end of the day. It was Eva’s twelfth birthday, which she was enjoying with her best friend, her dog, Teddy. Some overhead clouds softly diffused the light, making for a sweet, nostalgic portrait. Eva’s playful expression, with her cascading, long hair brings out the child-like girl with her dog resting comfortably beside her. Sadly, Teddy died of old age just a few short weeks after this image was taken.
